Frenchtown — the jewel of Hunterdon County's Delaware River Heritage Corridor, a Victorian river town at the foot of the Musconetcong Ridge where New Jersey's wildflower meadows and black locust forests frame the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area's southern approach — hosts this guided apiary tour weekend exploring the distinctive honey character of New Jersey's most ecologically intact western landscapes. The Delaware River corridor from Phillipsburg south through Stockton is New Jersey's premier honey-producing belt: the Musconetcong, Raritan, and Delaware valley bottomlands support black locust honey of exceptional quality, while the Sourland Mountain Preserve's wildflower meadows and the Pine Barrens' blueberry-huckleberry corridor contribute to a New Jersey varietal honey profile that rivals any Eastern state.
