The Maine Wild Berry & Honey Harvest Tasting celebrates the extraordinary seasonal honeys produced during Maine’s legendary blueberry and cranberry bloom, when the state’s coastal barrens and boreal forests transform into a vast pollinator landscape. Held at a scenic Down East farm in Washington County—home to the largest wild blueberry barrens in the world—the event pairs single-bloom blueberry, clover, goldenrod, and buckwheat honeys with Maine artisan cheeses, smoked salmon, and wild berry preserves. Blueberry growers discuss the critical role of honeybee pollination in the wild blueberry industry, and Maine beekeepers share their unique experience managing hives across the state’s diverse landscapes from Aroostook potato fields to Downeast coastal heath.
