The University of Minnesota Bee Lab opens its research facilities to the public for a summer open house featuring honey tastings, observation hives, and tours of ongoing research into varroa resistance and native pollinator conservation. Researchers present on Minnesota's distinctive basswood, sweet clover, and buckwheat honey varietals. A honey tasting station lets visitors compare varietals side-by-side. Free admission; registration recommended.
