Lewisburg's beloved fall honey festival showcases West Virginia's prized sourwood honey — considered by many connoisseurs to be the finest honey in America. Produced from Oxydendrum arboreum blooming high in the Appalachian ridges, authentic WV sourwood honey is rare and seasonal. The festival features 20+ regional beekeepers, a sourwood honey judging competition, heritage cider and honey pairings, and guided talks on Appalachian beekeeping traditions.
