The Wisconsin Beekeepers Association hosts its annual summer field day at a working apiary in southern Wisconsin, giving members hands-on time working colonies during the main basswood honey flow. Participants suit up and work alongside experienced beekeepers to inspect hives, identify queens, assess colonies for Varroa, and discuss harvest timing for Wisconsin's distinctive basswood and clover honeys. Includes potluck lunch and honey tasting comparing Wisconsin's regional varietals.
