The Illinois State Beekeepers Association holds its annual summer field day at a member apiary in central Illinois, during the heart of the sweet clover nectar flow. Attendees tour working hives with experienced Illinois beekeepers, observe queen grafting demonstrations, and discuss integrated pest management strategies for the Prairie State. Illinois's flat agricultural landscape produces distinctive white sweet clover and alsike clover honeys that are showcased at a tasting table. A vendor area features Illinois-made honey products and equipment.
