Honey Value Calculator

Compare up to 4 jars by true cost per gram — the only fair way to compare prices across different sizes.

USDA producer direct benchmark: $7.15/lb (2025)

Use it as a comparison seed, not a jar quote. See dated honey price channels.

This dataset has not been refreshed beyond the USDA AMS report issued Sep 30, 2025; current inventory was not verified.

  • NOT_REFRESHED — AMS freshness was not queried during the exact-SHA persisted-data repair
  • SOURCE_RANGE_TRUNCATION — Exact official PDF text omits one or more range highs; period is quarantined and excluded

Jar 2
Why price per gram? Honey jars come in 8 oz, 12 oz, 16 oz, 1 lb, 2 lb, and metric sizes. A $10 jar and a $14 jar can be equal value — or one can be 40% more expensive — depending on their weights. The sticker price alone never tells you. Price/gram normalizes everything to the same baseline.

Note: a higher price per gram is not always "worse." Manuka (UMF-rated), Sidr, and other specialty honeys command premiums for documented provenance, biochemical activity, or rarity. Use this tool to understand how large the premium is, not to judge whether it's worth it.
