Greek pine honey sold by Melidoron, a honey business with its own web shop, from pine forests on the island of Evia. Pine honey is a honeydew honey: the bees gather the sweet secretions of the Marchalina hellenica insect that lives on pine trees rather than flower nectar. This lot is labeled Evia and was gathered in September and October. The seller describes it as dark, not very sweet and heavily aromatic, and says it crystallizes slowly, after more than eight months. Sold in 250 g, 450 g and 950 g jars and a 2 kg pack.
