Carlo Amodeo is a Sicilian beekeeper, and his sulla honey is sold by the Sicilian food shop Emporio Sicilia. Sulla (Hedysarum coronarium, also called French honeysuckle) is a red-flowered forage plant common in the Mediterranean; this honey is made in May and June in areas around Palermo, Caltanissetta and Agrigento. The seller describes it as pale to almost white when liquid, crystallizing into a compact white paste that is not hard, with a very faint, fine aroma and a delicate taste with a pleasant vegetal note. It comes in 250 g and 400 g jars.
