Váraljai Raw Linden Honey (Nyers Hársméz)

Váraljai is a Hungarian apiary whose linden honey is sold by Mézbarlang, a specialist honey shop in central Budapest that lists it among its raw (nyers) honeys. The bees work linden (lime) trees in Hungary. The shop rates its intensity 4 of 5 and describes a strong linden-blossom, herbal aroma, a spicy, lightly menthol-like taste, a full body and a long finish. Color runs from light yellow to mid-brown depending on the harvest. It comes in 250 g and 400 g jars, and the shop pairs it with tea, apples, aged cheeses and spiced dishes.
